Meet Nicole & Henry {A Wedding Story}

Well Hi again, everyone!

Let's give it up for one fabulous couple, who just so happen to be newlyweds. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Wyse!
 
We thoroughly enjoyed photographing Nicole and Henry's wedding at Stellenrust Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, near Cape Town, South Africa. 

We started the day with the 'Groom getting ready' portraits so met up with Henry at the beautiful Mont Angelis Retreat, a selection of well-designed and spacious self-catering cottages on a wine farm in Upper Blaauwklippen Valley, 10km away from downtown Stellenbosch. 

How did the two of you meet? 
Henry and I met on a night out. We had a mutual friend but never actually met prior to this night. He bought me loads of jello shots!


Next we headed out to Rest at Chabivin to meet up with Nicole.

Situated on a boutique Stellenbosch wine farm, specialising in sparkling wine, Rest at Chabivin is privately situated in-between vineyards and a natural eucalyptus forest.

Tell us about your dress - where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?
I bought my dress 3 months after having my daughter (brave, I know!). As I'm really indecisive I took my Mum and sister with me. I tried on a couple but when I saw myself in my wedding dress I got rather emotional which is very unlike me. That's when I knew it was the one.

How did Henry pop the question?
He took me to my favourite place in the whole wide world - Cornwall in the UK. We were sitting on a bench overlooking the sea, and then he went down on one knee and proposed.

Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting or would you have rather done it differently? 
We didn't see each other before the wedding. It definitely adds to the excitement of the day and creates a "Wow Factor" when we saw each other at the ceremony.

Off to the ceremony we went! 

Stellenrust was established in 1928 and has ever since produced some of the most superb quality wines that the Stellenbosch region from South Africa can offer. It is known for being one of the largest family owned wine estates in South Africa and also offers a spectacular venue with magnificent views! Perfect for any wedding!

Inke Gouws from Inke Cake Design - it wasn't easy creating a wedding cake for us considering we were in two different countries. Inke was very professional and was always at the end of an e-mail to answer any of our questions. The cake she made was exactly what we wanted and tasted amazing! Everyone at the wedding commented on the cake.

What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome?
The WEATHER!!! It rained most of the day which meant we couldn't have the outdoor ceremony we wanted. That aside, the skies cleared in time for the ceremony and although it was indoors, our wedding photos will be a constant reminder that every cloud has a silver lining.

What was your favourite moment from the wedding?
One of our favourite moments was having both families meet for the first time. Cliche as it sounds, the whole day was just perfect! 

How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
A roller-coaster of emotions!



What's the one piece of advice you would give to other couples for planning their wedding?
Take a moment to step back and take it all in, it goes by so quickly!

How was your experience taking photos and working with Just Frame Me Photography on your wedding day?
Brilliant! They made us feel very relaxed and comfortable. Karien and Morne felt more like friends, rather than "photographers" which definitely added to the experience. They were very professional throughout; before, during and after the wedding. Just Frame Me Photography was recommended to us, and we will definitely be recommending them too!
