Hi, folks. Welcome back to the blog!

I always adore capturing weddings - there's always so much love and happiness in the air and the bridal couple always spends so much time intricately planning every fine detail. It wasn't any different for Megs & Mhairi's wedding :)

It was an honour and a privilege to have captured Megs & Mhairi's Love Story.

Megs & Mhairi chose Pat Busch Mountain Reserve for their wedding celebrations and what a gorgeous venue it was!

Tucked away at the foothills of the Langeberg mountains, guests are encouraged to slow down and enjoy the nature arou

nd them - to take a walk, have a refreshing swim in the dam and even get some mud between their toes!

It was the perfect venue for Megs & Mhairi and the perfect backdrop for anyone's wedding photos.

When & how did the two of you meet?

Six years ago, after swiping right, we met for dinner at Bellevue Café in Kloof just outside of Durban, where we both wished for the night not to end. A Mcflurry car park dessert started our sweet journey.

You decided to do a First Look – how was that? What were your first thoughts?

This was 'our' moment where we could celebrate us and our journey before we got to share it with anyone else. It helped settle any nerves and gave us the opportunity to connect, reflect and celebrate with just the two of us.

What was your favorite moments from the wedding?

Our wedding weekend was absolutely magical and to choose standout moments is difficult. But if we had to choose a few moments, the confetti toss would be one as we got to celebrate our coming together alongside our guests for the very first time. We got to see the excitement and enjoyment on everyone's faces as they tossed bird seed in our direction. What made this even more memorable was trying to get all the bird seed out of our hair and dresses!

Walking hand in hand underneath a sky full of stars to our reception area that was located in the middle of an open meadow took both of our breaths away. Seeing our vision come to life was truly an unforgettable moment.

We will never forget the private moment we took for ourselves at one point during the evening festivities to savour the moment as the day had felt like it had passed by so quickly.

What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?

Weddings aren't about spending the least amount of money or the most amount of money, they are about spending good money on the elements that are most important to you and your partner.

Don't leave things to the last minute!

Get as many tasks done as early as possible in the run up to your wedding, decision fatigue is a real thing. Don't be afraid to let other people make some decisions for you.

Lastly, don't sweat the small stuff.

Who popped the question & how did she do it? Was it a surprise or did you know it was coming?

Megan: I find it very difficult to keep surprises just that. So the months of planning was worthy torture that ended in a magical night. From having the ring designed perfectly hoping it was her style and that she would love it for life, to planning a romantic candlelit dinner within the moon landscaped canyons of the Namibian desert, this was where I proposed and asked Mha if our road trip together could continue forever.

Mhairi: I like to think I knew it was coming and that I'm tricky to surprise. With our Namibian road trip planned, I really thought it would be a Dune 45 sunrise where Megs would pop the question. I waited in anticipation but it wasn't to be. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at a canyon in the middle of the desert with what would seem to be thousands of candles and a dining table set for just the two of us. How romantic! It was here that our road trip for life would continue along with just a little more bling of a gorgeous custom made protea ring.

And lastly, how was your experience with Just Frame Me Photography?

Our experience with Karien from Just Frame Me Photography has felt like connecting with an old but very dear friend who only had our best interests at heart. The wisdom and experience that she brought to the table was invaluable and we are so grateful for her making us feel at ease in front of the camera.
